encaustic
I learned about the encaustic medium during my junior year of college, when I didn’t know what the hell I wanted to do, but I did know—very unfortunately for every wallet and student loan involved—that the thing I’d been studying for over 4 years was not it. Encaustics intercepted my doomed trajectory like a soft pillow and set me gently on a path of loving art again.
Often incorporating mixed media and leaning into surrealism, this process has allowed me to find an avenue into expression that feels seductive and exposed while still preserving a veil of mystery over the deeply personal.
